Terms of Service

Last updated: October 20, 2026

These terms cover your use of the getrostr.sh website and the rostr cloud API (“the Service”), run by Rosebud Labs LLC (“we”). By using the Service, you agree to them. The rostr CLI’s source code is licensed separately under the MIT License, and that license governs the code.

Your rostr key

Your rostr key is your only credential. Anyone who has it can read and change your cloud data. Keep it private, don’t commit it, and don’t share it except in places you control, like your own cloud environments.

We can’t recover or reset a lost key. If you lose it, your cloud data is gone.

Acceptable use

Don’t:

  • Abuse, overload, or try to break the Service, including by getting around rate limits
  • Use it to store content that’s illegal or that infringes someone else’s rights
  • Access data that isn’t yours
  • Resell the API or offer it as part of a competing hosted service without our permission

We may rate-limit, suspend, or delete keys that break these rules.

Your content

You own your rosters and whatever else you send us. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the Service.

Roster names you submit to us for the public preset list are covered by the license of the repo you submit them to.

Free service, no guarantees

The Service is free. It’s provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t promise it will be available, error-free, or that your data will never be lost.

If the API is down, the CLI starts your sessions without a name. Nothing else about your agents depends on us.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to US $50.

Changes and termination

We may change or discontinue the Service, or these terms, at any time. If we shut down the cloud API, we’ll try to give reasonable notice so you can switch to local mode. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your data (see the Privacy Policy).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York County, New York.
